Bachata Sensual Intermediate
The step beyond Improver: musicality, technical rueda, and improvisation tools at a faster pace that assumes fluency in the 10 fundamentals. Foundation and Improver concepts are not reviewed here.

What you will learn
Five fronts, pushed at a faster pace, for dancers already fluent in the fundamentals.

Advanced body movement
Non-fundamental body movements: vocabulary beyond the core ten, drawn from various styles.

Musicality & interpretation
Reading the song and interpreting it: dancing shaped by the music instead of the pattern.

Technical rueda
Rueda drills that sharpen technique, reaction, and connection with every partner in the circle.

Improvisation tools
Tools to leave choreography behind and build your own dance in the moment.

Timing & dynamics
Playing with timing and dynamics: contrast, suspension, and release.
The pace is faster here: Foundation and Improver concepts are not reviewed. Fluency in the 10 fundamentals is assumed.

Arrive, settle in, and get the body moving at the level the hour demands.

One advanced pattern or concept, at full pace. No basics review.

The material danced with musicality, improvisation, and your own interpretation.

Partners rotate through the class, so you leave having danced with everyone.

Good questions
How much experience do I need?
Attendance of the Improver level and 2 to 3 years of dance classes. You must be fluent in the 10 fundamental techniques of Bachata Sensual. We do not spend time explaining these basics in this course.
What comes after this level?
Sensual Intermediate Advanced, Thursdays 20:30, the most advanced room in the school. Dancers join upon instructor approval; ask us when you feel ready.
Can I join in the middle of a block?
Ask us before you join mid-block. We will tell you honestly whether the current week is a good entry point. The trial class is free either way.
Do I need a partner?
No. Partners rotate throughout the class, so you dance with everyone. Most people come alone.
What if I miss a week?
You can declare up to two planned absences at registration and one sick day per pass, and we extend your pass by that class day. The full policy is in our terms.
