YOUR FIRST
BACHATA CLASS

Starting a new hobby can be exciting. Here is everything you need to know to feel confident, meet new people, and enjoy getting fit on the dance floor.

What to Expect

Walking into a dance studio for the first time can be intimidating, but finding a new passion shouldn't be. Dancing is a fantastic way to stay active and connect with people outside your usual circle.

What to Wear

Comfort is key! Wear clothes that allow you to move freely. Gym clothes, leggings, or casual wear like jeans are fine. Avoid anything too restrictive.

Partner Rotation

In our classes, we highly suggest rotating partners. It helps you learn faster and meet new people. If you prefer to stay with your own partner, we respect that choice.

Shoe Guide

Having the right tools makes a huge difference. Protect your knees and turn smoothly.

Not Recommended

Street Shoes

Dirty soles damage the studio floor. Please always bring a separate pair of clean indoor shoes.

Great Start

Comfortable Sneakers

Perfect for your first class! Any comfortable indoor sneaker works.

Pro Choice

Dance Sneakers

There are brands specialized in sneaker dancing shoes. These are highly recommended for leaders and followers. Ask us for a promo code.

Roles

Bachata is a conversation between two people. Nowadays, anyone is welcome to choose either role.

Leader

Guides the dance and suggests moves. They are responsible for navigation and safety.

Follower

Interprets the signals and adds their own style.

Etiquette & Hygiene

Dancing is a close-contact activity. Please be mindful of your hygiene. Fresh breath (mints are great!), deodorant, and a fresh shirt go a long way.

Please no chewing gum for safety and respect for teachers and other attendants.
