By registering for a Course, the participant confirms that they have read and agreed to these Terms, which form part of the contract between the participant and AXcent Dance.
§1. Scope
These Terms and Conditions apply to all Courses offered by AXcent Dance and to all participants unless otherwise agreed in writing.
§2. Registration & Cancellation
Registration for a Course is binding and obligates payment of the Course fee. Registrations are personal and non-transferable. Registration for intermediate-level Courses may require prior instructor approval.
All memberships purchased are non-refundable. You may pause your membership in the following cases:
- Health reasons: In case of a long-term health issue (e.g., after surgery or an injury), you may request to pause your membership. Remaining lessons may be credited toward a later Course, subject to agreement. Email info@axcentdance.com.
- Travel/absence (3–8 consecutive weeks): You may request to freeze your membership and resume later. Contact info@axcentdance.com or speak with your instructor in advance.
§3. Payment for Courses
Course fees are due within 10 days of receiving the invoice. Payment can be made by purchasing the respective membership on axcentdance.com, by bank transfer to the AXcent Dance account, or via Twint.
Failure to pay does not constitute cancellation. AXcent Dance may send payment reminders and charge a reminder fee of CHF 10 per reminder.
§4. Course Structure & Modifications
Partnerwork Courses and styling Courses run continuously throughout the year. AXcent Dance reserves the right to modify class design, schedules, and offerings as needed.
Styling Courses: The first two lessons of each month focus on footwork, isolation, and foundational drills for both leaders and followers. The remaining lessons emphasize body movement, arm styling, and musical expression to help dancers develop personal style and stage confidence.
§5. Absences During the Subscription Cycle
If you cannot attend a lesson due to sickness, please notify AXcent Dance in advance (via email, WhatsApp, or group chat). This helps us plan partnerwork effectively and maintain balance in classes.
A maximum of one missed lesson due to sickness per Course per 8 weeks may be made up, up to a total of two absences per term (declared + sickness). Additional missed lessons are forfeited.
§6. Course Cancellations by AXcent Dance
AXcent Dance may postpone or cancel classes due to insufficient registrations, public holidays, school holidays, or other exceptional circumstances. Affected participants will be informed in advance whenever possible.
§7. Trial Lesson
New participants can attend a trial lesson at any time during an ongoing course by registering in advance. The trial lesson is free of charge.
§8. Dance Partners
You may register without a dance partner. However, AXcent Dance may limit registrations in cases of a severe leader/follower imbalance.
§9. Substitute Instructors
If an instructor is absent due to illness, accident, or other reasons, AXcent Dance may assign a substitute instructor or reschedule. These changes do not entitle participants to refunds or make-up lessons.
§10. Liability
Participation in all Courses is at the participant’s own risk. AXcent Dance assumes no liability for accidents, injuries, theft, or property damage except in cases of gross negligence or intent.
Participants are responsible for maintaining adequate accident and personal liability insurance.
§11. Data Protection & Media Use
Participant data are processed in accordance with Swiss data protection law. Data are not shared with third parties except when required by law. By registering, participants consent to the use of photos and videos taken during Courses or events for AXcent Dance’s advertising and informational purposes.
§12. Applicable Law & Jurisdiction
Swiss law applies exclusively. The place of jurisdiction for all disputes is Zurich, Switzerland.
§13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. The invalid clause will be replaced by one that most closely reflects the original intent.
§14. Code of Conduct in Class
Participants must behave respectfully toward instructors and fellow students. AXcent Dance reserves the right to exclude disruptive individuals from Courses without refund.
